Mission

Friends of the Libraries of Barnwell County (FOLBC) support quality library programs through the three county libraries (Barnwell, Blackville, and Williston) for the residents and visitors of Barnwell County by serving as advocates, fund raising, and providing support.
The Friends work in conjunction with the Board of Trustees and library staffs to achieve these ends, to acquaint the county residents, organizations, and business community with the needs of the libraries and to help improve their facilities and programs.

Why Join?

Becoming a member of the FOLBC means investing in the heart of your community. Our libraries are more than just buildings—they’re spaces for learning, connection, creativity, and growth. When you join the Friends, you help us:

  • Foster Community Connections
Our events, like author talks and family-friendly gatherings, bring people together and celebrate the power of shared stories.
  • Advocate for Libraries
As a Friend, you help raise awareness about the importance of public libraries and support efforts to keep them strong, relevant, and accessible.
  • Shape the Future
Your involvement helps fund new initiatives like the Teen Tech Center and Maker Space, ensuring our libraries evolve to meet the needs of tomorrow’s readers, leaders, and innovators.
